• Research subjects

  1. Population genetics:

     general and specific combining ability; selection methods and evaluation of breeding and productive value of hens, ducks and geese; creation of new strains; maintenance of the genetic reserve of laying hens, meat-type hens, ducks and geese; in situ improvement of conservative and synthetic groups of waterfowl.

  2. Molecular biotechnology and genetics:

     embryo culture in vitro, creation of fowl chimeras, genome DNA description using the RAPD method.

  3. Reproduction: methods of assessing

     egg quality and biological value of hatching eggs; embryo development,

  4. Poultry feeding and management:

     basic nutritive requirements of new breeding strains; biological value of feed components; forced moulting of laying hens.

  5. Technology: function traits of

     poultry meat; non-meat protein supplements.

  6. On-farm poultry breeding of Astra

     S, P, D, W and W-1 hens and Astra K and Dworka ducks.
